Challenge
The long-time President and CEO of a Home Care Non-Profit was retiring. The Non-Profit identified a potential solution through their own resources, but the Board of Directors wanted to do a thorough search of the market to be certain the candidate they were considering was the right solution to lead the organization over the next 10+ years. The Board needed a professional who could drive growth, implement new policies, enhance certain processes within the organization, and help increase their fund-raising capabilities.
Approach
The Board reached out to Daley And Associates via two business referrals. After an introductory meeting between the Board and Daley And Associates, the Organization engaged Daley, in a retained search, to find their next Chief Executive Officer. Daley assembled a dedicated in-house team to recruit both local and out-of-state candidates for the role. After speaking and meeting 20+ potential candidates, Daley And Associates formally presented 5 candidates, in addition to the candidate already under consideration, for the Board to meet and evaluate. Daley hosted at its location in Boston, formal interviews on two separate occasions with the Board and consulted with the Board after the interview sessions on the different candidates’ strong points and weak points. After additional on-site interviews with the finalist and with additional discussion and consultation with Daley, a finalist was identified. An offer was extended and accepted.
Results
The Board ultimately decided to hire one of the candidates that Daley identified and presented over the initially identified professional. She was brought on and has now been the CEO for almost four years and she has helped to drive growth and an increased presence for Boston Senior Home Care within the greater New England region. The Board has consistently provided very positive feedback on her performance and leadership
