Challenge 

A Boston-based investment manager needed to recruit external talent to support a digital transformation initiative within the firm. The organization was attempting to migrate its data to Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a part of a transition to its first-ever cloud-first environment. The project would require changes to the firm’s enterprise data management software, including coordination among business units.

At this time during our client’s undertaking, post-pandemic volatility in the market was favorable for candidates. Operational costs for the sourcing processes and compensation packages required to hire internally were high. To accelerate the talent acquisition process, our client sought executive search services through its already-established relationship with Daley And Associates.

Approach

With the hourly rates growing increasingly costly and the offshore support of our client’s hired managed service rendering in-person consulting sessions impossible, our client turned to Daley And Associates to resolve internal operations’ recruitment and efficiency issues.

The Daley And Associates executive search service team was tasked with sourcing two full-time employee hires: a product manager who would own the migration initiative and a senior business analyst. The latter required experience with data management for financial services enterprises.

Our customer also requested five additional on-site consultants to handle the daily software engineering responsibilities. The consultants would work alongside or under the guidance of the two new employees. The consultants would manage integrations with the firm’s existing systems, such as SalesForce CRM, and coordinate day-to-day engineering and customization tasks to meet the needs of the business units that would use the new cloud platform.
