UX Designer: Information Architect – Financial Services – Boston, MA
We are seeking a talented and creative UX Designer Information Architect to join an industry leading financial services firm located in Boston, MA. This role will join their Digital User Experience team and will play a crucial role in designing intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences for our products and services. The candidates will be responsible for crafting the information architecture of the firm’s platforms to ensure seamless navigation and taxonomy, efficient content organization, and optimal user interactions. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of UX design experience in the financial services industry.
This is a 12 month contract that will pay $50-54/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour workweek. This position is required to be onsite 2-3 days per week in their Boston office.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with designers, developers, and content strategists to align on project goals and user requirements.

Create sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes to visualize information architecture and user journeys.

Define content hierarchies and taxonomies to enhance information organization and user accessibility.

Develop user personas, flows, and interaction models to inform the design process.

Work with content teams to align content strategy with user needs and business goals.

Audit digital properties regularly to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.

Oversee third-party user research projects to gather insights and validate architectural decisions.

Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in information architecture and UX.

Advocate for user-centric design principles and support continuous improvement in UX processes.

Collaborate with development, brand, content, and publishing teams to ensure effective implementation of proposed architectures.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Architecture, Interaction Design, or a related field.

5-7+ years of UX design experience, ideally within the financial services industry.

Demonstrated success as a User Experience Information Architect or similar role, with a portfolio of impactful projects.

Expertise in user-centered and usability design principles.

Proficient in wireframing and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD or Figma.

Strong knowledge of web and mobile design standards, patterns, and best practices.

Skilled in analyzing complex user needs and creating intuitive, efficient information architectures.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering outstanding user experiences.

Familiarity with HTML/CSS and Agile development concepts.
