Senior Investment Operations Analyst
We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Investment Operations Analyst opportunity with a highly successful alternative investment management group located in Boston, MA. The Senior Investment Operations Analyst will be responsible for managing and reconciling cash flows for multiple investment portfolios. The Senior Investment Operations Analyst will ensure accurate cash projections, reconciliations, and reporting for a variety of funds (including reviewing Net Asset Values (NAVs) and earnings allocations, identifying discrepancies).
The ideal candidate will have 4-6+ years of related investment operations experience, and must have experience working with hedge funds and private equity funds. This role offers 100% remote flexibility for qualified candidates (candidates must be located in EST).
This is a 4–6-month contract opportunity, paying $40-$50/hour (depending on experience).
Responsibilities:
- Handle reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of reconciliation process, and deliver reporting on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile monthly cash flows and trade activities for Separately Managed Accounts, private investments, hedge funds, and commingled funds.
- Oversee and track cash flow activities, ensuring accurate preparation of cash reconciliations and projections for various portfolios.
- Review and analyze the Net Asset Values (NAV) calculated by custodian bank, addressing any discrepancies or variances.
- Work closely with custodian bank, BNY, ensuring effective communication and optimal productivity.
- Cross-reference custodian bank data with internal system to identify breaks in market value, transactions, and performance.
- Collect, analyze, and prepare data sourced from custodian bank for reporting and reconciliation purposes.
- Examine the net earnings allocations prepared by custodian bank.
- Complete and submit third-party access request forms as necessary.
- Provide additional support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Required).
- 5+ years of experience in investment operations, fund accounting, portfolio operations, or auditing.
- Strong experience working with hedge funds, private equity funds, SMAs, and commingled funds.
- Experience with BNY custodian reporting.
- Previous experience utilizing Caissa.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Great time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
