Senior Fund Accountant 

A prominent alternative investment firm located in Boston is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join their finance and operations team.  This position will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of fund operations, overseeing accounting activities, research, and ensuring accuracy of all investment data.  This is a hybrid opportunity and the firm is willing to pay $90k-$110k on a base plus bonus.     

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Support with the day-to-day accounting operations for the firm's investment funds, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

  • Perform daily reconciliation of cash, positions, and transactions for the fund, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.

  • Review and validate trade activity, corporate actions, and other transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements, investor reports, and other regulatory filings for the funds.

  • Conduct research and analysis on accounting issues, investment transactions, and regulatory changes, providing recommendations and solutions to management as needed.

  • Prepare financial statements and related reporting for review, including SEC filings as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in fund accounting.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to apply them to complex investment structures and transactions.

  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify key insights, and propose effective solutions.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
