Senior Accountant
We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant opportunity with a highly successful consumer goods organization located in Boston, MA. The Senior Accountant will focus primarily on revenue recognition and fixed asset accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of technical accounting experience.
This is a 6+ month contract opportunity, paying between $50-$65/hour (depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure revenue recognition aligns with ASC 606 and company policies.
- Review customer contracts and assess proper revenue treatment.
- Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
- Maintain the fixed asset subledger and ensure accurate capitalization and depreciation.
- Track asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
- Reconcile fixed asset accounts and prepare related journal entries.
- Assist in asset impairment testing and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing activities.
- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 7-10+ years of accounting experience, preferably in revenue recognition and fixed asset accounting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and fixed asset accounting principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
