Security Operations Engineer – Telecom – Greater Raleigh, NC
Daley and Associates is currently seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join our client’s Cyber Security Operations team to safeguard IT infrastructure, focusing on Palo Alto Firewall, Zscaler, and identity programs. This engineer will design and implement security measures, manage firewalls, monitor networks, and ensure compliance with industry best practices. This is a hybrid role onsite 3 days per week. NO C2C or 1099 contractors are eligible.
This a 12+ month contract position that will pay $65-70/hr (W2) within a 40 hour work week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot security platforms (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, vulnerability scanners).
- Manage Microsoft Defender ATP, Azure Security Center, and Cloud App Security.
- Automate security operations using PowerShell and Security Graph API.
- Oversee VPN, NAT, PAT, and firewall operations.
- Analyze network traffic and conduct vulnerability testing.
- Provide support and resolve security-related issues for internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Information Systems/Computer Science or 5+ years’ experience.
- Expertise in Zscaler, Palo Alto, Panorama, Microsoft Security tools, and cloud security.
- Experience with security event correlation, monitoring tools (SolarWinds), and ITSM processes.
- Scripting/automation experience (Ansible, Python, PowerShell) preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and a proactive learning mindset.
- Up to 10% travel may be required.
