Interim Controller

We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Controller at a retail distribution co. based in Maynard, MA, 01754. This opportunity is a temporary role (est. 5+ months,) and will pay up to $70.00 per hour (based on relative work experience) within a 40-hour work week. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting skill set with 5+ years of Controller level experience and can lead the month-end close and financial statement process.

Responsibilities

  • General ledger financial reporting including preparing financial statements and related monthly financial reports
  • Manage Company’s accounts payable process and vendor management reporting
  • Reconcile bank statements review all fixed assets
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and review all footnotes
  • Overseas sales audit for accuracy of month-end close
  • Produce cash flow analysis based on store sales as well as online sales
  • Report on cost of goods, rent, payroll, SG & A and warehouse expenses by location
  • Manage four accounts payable, twostaff accountants and 2 in sales audit

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation (preferred)
  • 10+ years accounting experience(5+ years Controller level experience)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics is highly preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency and results orientation
  • Provide mentorship end guidance to accounting staff
