Title: Director of Project Management – HVAC
Location: New York, NY Midtown
Overview:
An innovative and expanding HVAC manufacturer and distributor in New York City is looking for a Director of Project Management. This leadership role requires expertise in project management and HVAC engineering, overseeing a team responsible for delivering complex HVAC projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate will ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Guide, mentor, and inspire a team of project managers to achieve outstanding project outcomes and support team growth.
Project Oversight
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve on-time and on-budget delivery aligned with client expectations.
Technical Problem-Solving
- Leverage engineering skills to address HVAC design, installation, and maintenance challenges.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to set project goals, provide updates, and handle scope or schedule adjustments.
Process Optimization
- Develop and implement efficient project management processes to boost quality, profitability, and project success.
Risk Management
- Anticipate potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project delivery.
Performance Tracking
- Monitor and report project KPIs to confirm adherence to quality, budget, and schedule objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
- 8+ years of project management experience in HVAC, construction, or a related field
- 3+ years in a management or team leadership role
- Consulting engineering experience (preferred)
- Deep knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and engineering fundamentals
- PMP certification (preferred)
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
