Director of Project Management – HVAC – New York, NY 10104
We are currently seeking candidates for a Director of Project Management position with a rapidly growing HVAC manufacturer and distributor located in New York, NY. The Director of Project Management will oversee a team dedicated to managing complex HVAC projects from start to finish. This role requires a blend of project management skills and engineering knowledge to ensure projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
This is a full-time permanent position that will pay $170K – 185K (depending on experience) annual base salary.
Responsibilities:

Lead a team of project managers, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to drive successful project outcomes and foster team development.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient delivery that meets client specifications.

Apply engineering expertise to resolve technical challenges in HVAC design, installation, and maintenance.

Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to align on project goals, provide regular updates, and manage changes in scope or schedule.

Develop and implement project management processes to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability across projects.

Proactively identify risks early in the project lifecycle and establish strategies to mitigate them, ensuring successful project delivery.

Track and report on project KPIs to confirm adherence to quality, budget, and schedule targets.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

8+ years of experience in project management in the HVAC, construction, or related industry.

3+ years of experience in a management or team lead role.

Previous consulting engineering experience, highly preferred

Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and engineering principles.

PMP certification (preferred)

Well versed in project management software (i.e. MS Project, Primavera)

Strong written and verbal communication skills
