Duration: 3 plus months
Location: Leominster MA Area (On-Site 5 days a week)
Compensation $70.00 per hour

Overview:
We are looking for a Cost Accountant Manager or Controller level professional to assist a Hi-Tech manufacturing client with a full review of SOP’s and assisting in the cost process while the Controller and CFO work on a large project.  This professional will need to have prior experience in reviewing, editing and building Cost SOP’s. This professional will be working onsite with the Controller and CFO on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Percentage of Completion (POC) Accounting:
    • Calculate and record POC journal entries for large Department of Defense (DOD) manufacturing projects.
    • Attend Budget/Actual/Forecast (BAF) meetings to gather and analyze data for POC entries.
  • Project & General Ledger Management:
    • Accurately set up and update projects, change orders, and service agreements in the ERP system.
    • Manage project estimates, WIP valuation, and variance analysis.
    • Monitor and resolve discrepancies in project charges and timesheets.
    • Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and ensure accurate month-end close activities.
  • Reporting & Collaboration:
    • Prepare and review WIP analyses after each payroll cycle.
    • Support external audits and participate in special projects as needed.
    • Collaborate with the accounting and finance teams to streamline the monthly close process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
  • 4+ years of job costing and/or POC accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience (Project Accounting preferred).
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Epicor preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • This is an in-office position.
