Consultant Communications Associate – Private Equity – Boston, MA
We are seeking candidates for a Consultant Communications Associate position with a highly successful private equity firm located in Boston, MA. The Consultant Communications Associate will ensure that consultants remain informed of about the firm’s key initiatives and messages through organized meetings, relevant updates, coordination of consultant-related information, and prompt, accurate response to requests. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience with RFP/RFIs, consultant communication, or investor communications in investment management or financial services.
This is a permanent position that will pay a base salary of $95-100k (depending on experience). This position is required to be onsite 2-3 days/week in their Boston office.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the internal point of contact for investment consultants, addressing requests promptly.
- Assist with business development efforts, including managing the due diligence process for consultants, tracking coverage, and researching new consultant relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen the infrastructure supporting fundraising.
- Manage external communications for consultants, including quarterly updates, marketing events, AGMs, and fund launches.
- Partner with the Sales Enablement Team to coordinate RFP/RFI responses, maintain consultant databases, and address ad hoc requests.
- Prepare presentation materials and agendas for on-site strategy and due diligence sessions.
- Track consultant-driven searches, gather feedback on commitments, and review engagement status for team meetings.
- Work with Account Managers to develop a strategic engagement plan for target consultants, prioritize meetings, and report progress.
- Maintain and update data in the CRM, ensuring contact details and client coverage remain accurate.
- Record updates on consultant contacts, such as departures, role changes, and news about firm activities (mergers, acquisitions, searches, etc.).
- Work with the Commercial Operations team to optimize client activity tracking, campaigns, and reporting, and create consultant profiles.
- Improve CRM reporting capabilities to provide comprehensive, up-to-date coverage of all consultant relationships.
- Integrate external data and intelligence from industry sources (e.g., Preqin, eVestment, finSearches) into the CRM.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 3-4 years of experience in investment management and/or financial services.
- Background in RFPs, consultant communications, or institutional investor communications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus.
- Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Able to manage projects independently and work effectively in a team setting.
- Self-motivated, organized, and highly detail-oriented.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume financial environment.
