Compensation Specialist – Boston, Hybrid

A successful medical insurance company located in Boston is looking for a Compensation Specialist to join their growing team! As the Compensation Specialist, you will be an expert in all things compensation, including compiling data/reports, compliance, policy & procedure development, research and communication. This candidate must have 5+ years of strong compensation experience, in addition to advanced knowledge of excel and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market analysis to ensure competitive salary structures and total compensation packages
  • Design, implement, and maintain compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, and incentive structures
  • Lead annual merit and bonus planning cycle to ensure compensation is equitable, consistent and accurate by effectively presenting complex compensation data and insights to diverse audiences, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic alignment
  • Analyze and review compensation data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Serve as backup to HR Administrator for bi-weekly payroll processing in collaboration with Finance and performs spot checks to ensure accuracy
  • Participates in year-end payroll process
  • Supports Senior HR Manager with benefits administration and annual open enrollment benefits cycle by participating in benefit strategy discussions, supporting online enrollment and employees

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree with a focus on HR
  • 5+ Years of Compensation experience
  • In depth understanding of compensation structures, job evaluation, and salary surveys
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations impacting compensation and benefits
  • HRIS, and/or payroll experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
