Addiction Counselor – Richland, WA
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Counselors to join an outpatient addiction medicine practice in Benton County. This clinic provides comprehensive care for individuals recovering from opioid addiction, emphasizing a holistic approach to treatment. The care model is built on three proven pillars for recovery: medication, weekly group therapy, and care navigation. With a focus on high-quality clinical treatment and collaborative support, the goal is to empower individuals to build fulfilling, sober lives.
This position will offer $60k-$90k depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
If leading group therapy is your passion, this role is for you. As a Counselor, your primary focus will be facilitating group sessions, while working as part of a dynamic care team that includes prescribers, care navigators, peer recovery coaches, and office managers. Together, the team delivers a well-rounded clinical model rooted in the belief that counseling, medication, and community support are essential for lasting recovery. Specific responsibilities include:
- Serving as the addiction and recovery expert, guiding the treatment team and coordinating care decisions.
- Managing a caseload and schedule that supports both clinic needs and professional development.
- Collaborating with team members to implement the clinical service model effectively.
- Facilitating 2-3 one-hour group therapy sessions weekly, utilizing an established curriculum to help members build recovery skills and foster community.
- Documenting member progress using outcome measures and feedback tools (e.g., Core Milestones, NPS scores).
- Engaging with the community to build relationships and promote the organization’s mission through activities such as:
- Distributing educational materials to local stakeholders.
- Attending and participating in community meetings related to substance use and addiction recovery.
Qualifications
- Active licensure or certification (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMFT).
- At least two years of experience leading groups in a substance use disorder (SUD) setting.
- Proficiency with technology, including EMR systems, telehealth platforms, Google Workspace, and mobile apps.
- A strong sense of compassion, commitment to quality care, and dedication to member success.
- Availability to work 2-3 evenings per week, up to 9:00 PM, as needed.
- Preferred experience and backgrounds include mental health, social work, SUD treatment, therapy, human services, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), or related fields.
