AP Supervisor – Private Equity – Boston, MA

A leading Private Equity firm located in Back Bay is looking for an AP Supervisor to join their growing team! This firm is focused on buyouts of companies in Western and Central Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. The firm has invested in over 400 private equity investments across 41 countries, with $96 billion in assets under management. is primarily responsible for the full-cycle accounts payable process including vendor on-boarding, invoice coding, contract review and matching, and payment processing.



  • Provide oversight to team and processing queues to ensure invoices are paid timely, accurately and in accordance with the business terms, firm policy and procedures, and internal controls

  • Coordinate the preparation of more complex vendor payments

  • Interpret contracts (engagement letters, MSAs, SOWs) and complex business documents

  • Elevate any and all issues that are roadblocks to timely and accurate payments to all vendors

  • Review and approve voucher packages (invoices, contracts, etc.) created by the AP team members to ensure proper general ledger coding, contract application, and business approval

  • Review payment cycle and ensure cash requirements are met

  • Lead AP close and prepare monthly reconciliation/analysis in support of the monthly financial close

  • Prepare executive level financial analysis as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7-10 years’ experience in accounts payable function

  • Past experience with a Tier 1 ERP financial system (PeopleSoft preferred)

  • Experienced in Invoice and T&E systems (Concur and PeopleSoft preferred)

  • Thorough working knowledge of Excel and Word

  • Demonstrated success in an Accounts Payable supervisory role, preferably in a complex, multinational environment

  • Banking and treasury experience helpful

  • Certification in Accounts Payable processing highly desired
