Corporate Controller – Norwood, MA – Manufacturing
A leading food industry supplier of processing and packaging knowledge, equipment and solutions is looking to hire a Corporate Controller to join their growing team. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of the system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and processes to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that the financial statements comply with GAAP.
Responsibilities:

Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and ensure timely reporting of the financial results.

Prepare and review the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.

Prepare reports and analysis that outline the company’s financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.

Lead the continuous enhancement of internal financial reporting to provide meaningful insights to the leadership team.

Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes and tools, and related business processes ensuring that practices are both in line with the overall goals of the organization and are efficient and effective.

Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team to meet the current and evolving needs of the business through effective selection, training, and development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

Partner collaboratively with the other business leaders, drive performance, accountability, and higher standards of excellence across the business.

Oversee and monitor accounts receivable including collections and monitoring and assessing risk with past due accounts.

Provide support to the VP of Finance and the VP of Operations on inventory controls, valuation, and reporting.

Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of incentives calculations, payments, and accruals.

Lead year-end review and be liaison with the external CPA firm.

Manage and monitor cash availability and liquidity.

Assist and supply information to external CPA firm for the preparation of Federal and State tax returns, estimated tax payments and sales tax compliance.

Ensure a culture of integrity, transparency, and compliance with all relevant financial and accounting standards as well as all applicable laws and regulations.

Provide guidance on technical accounting issues and new accounting standards.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

BS degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

10+ years of progressive accounting with Controllership experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role

Ability to effectively manage a large team

Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
