Accounts Payable Supervisor

A leading global private equity firm, located in Boston, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join the Finance – Corporate Accounting team. This position will report to the Accounts Payable Manager and will be responsible for the full-cycle accounts payable process including vendor on-boarding, invoice coding, contract review and matching, and payment processing. Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight to team and processing queues to ensure invoices are paid timely, accurately and in accordance with the business terms, firm policy and procedures, and internal controls
  • Coordinate the preparation of more complex vendor payments
  • Interpret contracts (engagement letters, MSAs, SOWs) and complex business documents
  • Review and approve voucher packages (invoices, contracts, etc.) created by the AP team members to ensure proper general ledger coding, contract application, and business approval
  • Supervise the team and prioritize daily work to maximize efficiency and timeliness
  • Manage customer relationships (both internal and external) to ensure superior service is consistently provided
  • Develop team: monitor performance of direct reports and team. Provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling
  • Ensure compliance with policy and procedures, Limited Partnership Agreements, Advisory Agreements, and other one-use and long-term contracts
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement through automation, embracing and leveraging technology, streamlining, and innovation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7-10 years’ experience in accounts payable function]
  • Past experience with a Tier 1 ERP financial system (PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Experienced in Invoice and T&E systems (Concur and PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in an Accounts Payable supervisory role, preferably in a complex, multi-national environment
  • Is an energetic, self-motivator with the ambition and drive to continuously learn, grow and improve in a fast paced and dynamic environment
