Senior Finance Associate

A leading Asset Management firm located in Boston is looking to hire a Senior Finance Associate to join their growing team. As the Senior Finance Associate, you will have the ability to be hands on with financial reporting, board reporting, and operational reporting while gaining additional experience to all other investment Products. My client is seeking a CPA professional with Big4 experience who is interested in joining an Asset Management firm. 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand complex investments and how they function within the portfolio (reporting, exposure, valuation)
  • Reconcile portfolio with administrator and middle office team, as well as perform qualifying assets tests
  • Responsible for accurate calculation of Funds’ NAV, fees, and accruals in accounting system
  • Oversee month-end closings and maintain full accounting records
  • Monitor all capital activity
  • Review/reconcile publicly filed financial statements and work papers provided by third party administrator
  • Oversee SOX controls
  • Perform calculations of management fess and incentive fees
  • Update/analyze month to date, year to date and inception to date performance returns
  • Manage the annual audit and quarterly reviews
  • Work with tax/compliance team
  • Prep meeting materials for senior management and board of directors

Qualifications:

  • BA degree in Accounting
  • CPA is required
  • 5-6 years of experience
  • Public accounting experience (minimum of 2 years of Big4 experience)
  • Experience with SEC reporting and SOX
  • Must have experience working with debt instruments (bank debt, bonds, etc.)
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
