Portfolio Administration Analyst- Boston

A highly successful Private Equity firm located in the Back Bay of Boston is looking for a Portfolio Administration Analyst to join their team. This firm focuses on buyouts in Western and Central Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia. As the Portfolio Administration Analyst, you will work closely with the Senior Manager and Senior Analyst of portfolio administration and in all aspects of deal administration. We are seeking confident, self-starting and detail-oriented professionals who have a passion for the private equity industry.

 Responsibilities:

  • Transaction support and administration
    • Monitor and maintain tracking sheet of closed deals and relevant information
    • Coordinate transaction closing for both investment and sale activity
    • Lead the post-close deal process ensuring timely and accurate recording of each investment
    • Maintain detail records of closing materials and documentation
    • Assist with the set-up of new investment positions and related deal background data in the accounting system
  • Ongoing portfolio-related processes
    • Maintain the portfolio company ownership and public share positions in accounting system and oversee he annual update of capitalization tables, working closely with deal teams regarding updates
    • Assist in the custody process ensuring compliance with the custody rules and resolve any differences between custodian oppositions to accounting records
    • Update quarterly and ad-hoc management reporting schedules including investment activity, divestment activity and outstanding escrow accounts
    • Ensure ERISA requirements are met for the firm’s VCOV limited partnerships and preform annual test work as required
    • Support the firm’s compliance function with the preparation of ongoing regulatory filings made with the SEC and US Department of Commerce

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm
  • Experience working with financial transactions in a similar position or experience through consulting/audit/tax
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
