SVP of Technical Sales Engineering

Our client a Precision Materials organization here in New England would like to add an SVP of Technical Sales Engineering to their team to further develop their Industrial Products Division in North America, specifically in the Electric Vehicle and Power Distribution markets. 

Reporting to directly to the CEO, this executive will be responsible for bolstering and building-out the sales organization for the future to execute
the clients Industrial Products sales and marketing strategy. This key leader is responsible for the day to day external and internal sales, business development and marketing activities. The SVP will have direct oversight of the sales, business development, and customers service teams as well as matrixed reporting into the sales organization. This executive will require the knowledge and experience to identify and capture new business opportunities across targeted growth areas including electric vehicles, grid infrastructure and
power transformation.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Full responsibility of the marketing and sales operating expense budget
• Oversee the equitable assignment of sales team quotas and ensuring the company financial goals are optimally allocated to the sales channels
through the team and individual sales plans
• Design, implement and manage sales forecasting and planning processes to include improvements to RFQ cycle times and accuracy
• Developing a strategic, comprehensive, (short and long term) sales and marketing business plan which aligns with the company’s overall
revenue growth objectives and profitability target markets
• Management of multi-layered marketing activities including web, digitalization, and social media campaigns
• Monitoring the market and competitor products and activities and providing detailed sales forecasting and reporting to division and group
• Identifying new opportunities that align with the Industrial Products Division capabilities and customers capturing additional market share
in existing end use markets and advancing growth in targeted areas
• Reviewing customer activity, anticipating customer needs, and improving customer satisfaction in coordination with staff
• Recruiting and hiring sales staff and leaders and developing sales and marketing training programs
• Driving accountability through sales goals and motivating the sales teams to achieve their goals
• Evaluate and determine sales roles, coverage models, or team configurations in order to maximize sales productivity/target achievement and do so in collaboration with other functional leads to ensure optimal end-to-end operations.
• Proactively identify risks and issues that could impact the successful execution of business objectives; elevate risks and issues which business leaders should be aware of and position ideas to resolve/mitigate
• Set the standard for inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative culture that eliminates silos, and establishing communication, interaction and relationship building with internal resources, other stakeholders, and external customers where appropriate

• Maximizing Conversion Rate- RFQ to PO
• New account/product win rate
• Gross Margin Targets
• Sales Strategic growth target attainment
• Customer Satisfaction Rate
• MBO attainment

Candidate Preferences & Qualifications:
• Successful record of executive leadership including the demonstrated ability to lead change, motivate, and enable a high performing sales team with proven experience driving revenue growth in a complex organizational and market environment
• Proficient in sales reporting and project management tools for identifying, organizing, and presenting data required to support sales strategy
• Confidence using data analytics, financial and business reporting tools to make data-informed decisions
• Extensive sales, marketing, and operational experience in the Electrification, Power Distribution (grid), Electric Vehicles and general industrial markets
• 10-15 years of electrical power industry experience and extensive relationships with major industry players
• Hands-on management style having served in numerous management positions
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, business management, MBA. Advanced Electrical Engineering and or Material Science degree a plus

Physical Demands:
• Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%
• Must be able to handle the stress of everyday activity as well as that associated with heightened levels of operations, customer demands, and budgetary compliance demands
