Accounting Manager – BioTech – Cambridge, MA

We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounting Manager with a clinically staged cell therapy company. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for accounting, contract accruals, month-end close process, and financial statement presentation. As well as working alongside the Director of Clinical Trials and the Accounting & Finance team for multiple ongoing clinical trials. The Accounting Manager must have a minimum of (5) years experience.

This is a full time position that will pay up to 160K on a base, 15% Bonus, and Equity. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a key team member, you will be responsible for supporting the Company’s close process including performing CRO/CMO/contract accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analyses while ensuring policies and procedures are followed to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley.

  • Collaborate with Research and Clinical Development operational teams to review and understand study/program plans, clinical trial accruals, and related third-party contracts

  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with key counterparts including Research, Clinical, FP&A, and accounts payable

  • Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to help reduce the month-end close timeline

  • Assist with financial statements on a monthly basis

  • Assist with development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures

  • Collaborate with accounts payable to review purchase orders, ensure accurate coding of expenses, and monitor payments to vendors

  • Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accountancy or Business required

  • 5+ years combined in public or private accounting

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, quarter-end close and reporting process

  • Experience at a Public Company preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Sound problem-solving abilities

  • An ability to be productive and successful and work under tight deadlines

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive work ethic

  • Flexible to changing priorities

  • Advanced Excel skills required and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products

  • NetSuite experience preferred
