Mammography Technologist
Our client, a private diagnostic radiology practice in Manhattan specializing in a wide range of imaging modalities, is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join their team. The successful candidate will perform mammography examinations for the detection of breast disease and assist in various diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct screening and diagnostic mammography exams to capture high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.

Prepare and position patients for mammography procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. Explain procedures and answer any questions to help alleviate patient anxiety.

Review and evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring optimal visualization of the breast tissue. Identify and document any abnormalities or issues.

Support radiologists during image-guided procedures, such as biopsies, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.

Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring it is clean, calibrated, and functioning properly. Report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.

Participate in quality assurance activities, including regular checks and audits to maintain high standards of image quality and patient safety.

Accurately document patient information, examination details, and any findings in the electronic medical record system.
- Work closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in mammography and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:

Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

At least 2 years of experience in mammography.

Proficient in operating mammography equipment and capturing high-quality images.

Strong understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Manual dexterity to operate mammography equipment.
Pay Range: $55-$65/hr+, based on experience
