Client Relations Associate – Boston, MA
We are currently seeking a talented Client Relations Associate to join a top-tier investment management firm located in Boston. The primary responsibility of the Client Relations Associate is to support the Consultant Relations team in managing and strengthening the Firm’s relationships with investment consultants. This role ensures that consultants are well-informed on key messaging and current initiatives. The Associate serves as a key resource for investment consultants and provides strategic administrative support to the Consultant Relations team as needed.
This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days on-site in the Boston office and will pay between $90k-$100k depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main internal contact for consultant requests, supporting the Consultant Relations team in managing consultant relationships and business development activities.
- Assist with the diligence process, field consultant coverage, and researching new consultant relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance fundraising infrastructure.
- Manage external communications to consultants, including quarterly updates, firm events, and fund launches.
- Coordinate RFP/RFI responses, consultant databases, and ad hoc requests in partnership with the Sales Enablement Team.
- Prepare presentation materials, agendas, and organize team participation in on-site strategy due diligence sessions.
- Track and analyze consultant-driven searches and commitments, and gather feedback.
- Partner with Account Managers to plan and prioritize consultant engagement and meetings for the year.
- Provide weekly updates on consultant engagement status across active strategies.
- Maintain and update the CRM system to ensure accurate contact and client coverage information.
- Update records on key consultant contacts, including changes in firm news, personnel shifts, and acquisitions.
- Work with the Commercial Operations team to enhance campaigns, client reporting, activity tracking, and develop consultant profiles.
- Improve CRM reporting for comprehensive and up-to-date coverage of all consultant relationships.
- Integrate intelligence and news from external sources (Preqin, eVestment, finSearches) into the CRM.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 5-8 years of experience in investment management or financial services.
- Familiarity with RFP processes, consultant communications, and/or institutional investor communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Salesforce CRM experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, able to work effectively with all levels and across teams.
- Independent project management capabilities, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Motivated self-starter, adaptable to a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Commitment to producing quality work with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable discussing fund performance in a financial context.
- Effective project and time management skills.
