VP of Project Management – HVAC – New York, NY 10104
A rapidly expanding HVAC manufacturer and distributor in New York, NY, is seeking a skilled VP of Project Management. This leader will oversee a team responsible for managing complex HVAC projects from inception to completion. The role requires strong project management expertise combined with engineering knowledge to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering an annual base salary of $170K – $185K (depending on experience).
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of project managers, providing strategic guidance, support, and constructive feedback to drive successful outcomes and foster team growth.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects meet client requirements efficiently and effectively.
- Utilize engineering expertise to address technical challenges in HVAC design, installation, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to establish project goals, communicate updates, and manage changes in scope or schedule.
- Develop and standardize project management processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful outcomes.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor adherence to quality, budget, and timeline goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
- 8+ years of experience in project management within HVAC, construction, or a related field.
- 3+ years in a management or team leadership role.
- Prior consulting engineering experience is highly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and engineering fundamentals.
- PMP certification (preferred).
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
