Private Equity Sr. Investment Accounting Analyst
We are currently seeking candidates for a Private Equity Sr. Investment Accounting Analyst at a private equity/venture capital firm based in New York, NY, 10020. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of investment accounting experience at a Venture Capital or Private Equity firm.
This is a temporary role (est. 6+ months) and will pay up to $80.00 per hour (based on relative work experience) within a 40-hour work week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of fund accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Review and analyze tax statements for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Review and analyze tax statements for portfolio companies.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a comprehensive investment log, tracking key details of each investment.
- Prepare weekly valuation and activity logs, monitoring portfolio performance and market trends.
- Update and maintain manual Excel files with critical portfolio company data, including ownership percentages and valuations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- 8+ years of investment accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player with a strong focus on getting the job done within established strict timeframes
