This position involves a broad range of administrative and organizational responsibilities. The Executive Assistant will function as the primary go-to resource to a small business unit. Responsibilities include all manner of general office support; phones, correspondence, filing, distribution of reports, announcements, new employee onboard tasks, and internal messages and other general coordination for the unit. The Executive Assistant will provide support to the Managers with their specific administrative needs, including external events, travel and customer communications. He/she will manage internal and external meeting space for recurring and special events, including food and/or related collateral items; manage interrelated calendar; travel schedules and provide “on the road” support to traveling members of the business unit; coordinate the submission, review and coding of the units’ expense reports; manage the unit’s office supplies, periodical subscriptions and special items ordering; provide proof reading/editing support to various individual and group reports generated; and coordinate with other Administrative Assistants in the unit. In addition, he/she will be asked to support presentations and/or take meeting minutes on occasion.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an Associate of Science degree, although a Bachelor of Science degree with a business major is strongly preferred. The employer is looking for someone with five to eight years of advancing administrative expertise/experience; expertise with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; knowledge of investment/financial services business and terminology; demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; and experience working with financial reports and embedded spread sheets and graphics. Advanced skills with PowerPoint are desired, preferably with experience developing PowerPoint and Excel templates. The selected individual will possess excellent organization and prioritization skills and be capable of independent work with limited supervision. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
Compensation will be $47,000 to $65,000. That compares quite favorably to a national average salary of $44,000 for an Executive Assistant, according to Indeed.com.
Senior Tax Analyst
Interested in working for a leading provider of speech, imaging and customer interaction solutions for businesses and consumers around the world? A Woburn, Mass.-based employer is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions during this busy season.
Responsibilities include preparing federal and state income tax returns, including estimated tax payments and extensions and assisting with the preparation of all backup schedules. The chosen individual will also prepare certain international aspects of the federal income tax return, including foreign tax credit calculations and Forms 5471 and 8858 and the supporting documentation for these schedules. He/she will assist with restructuring, acquisitions and other tax planning transactions and assist with federal & state income tax audits.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, three or more years of public or corporate tax experience working on tax provisions; working knowledge of tax provision software (i.e. One Source); working knowledge of ASC 740 tax accounting and IRS tax code; experience with Tax Stream and other Tax software compliance packages. The ideal candidate will also be well-versed in Excel and Word.
Compensation for this temp-to-perm position will be $40.00 to $55.00 per hour.
